About the artist

Marco Antelmi (1993, Italy) focuses on the production of syncretic knowledge by merging speculation with activism. He questions the concept of anthropocentrism and within his practice journalism and science-fiction co-exist, internet subcultures are put into dialogue with the post-natural instances. Through the use of functional media and the creation of antagonistic narratives, the pedagogical side of his practice converges towards a strategic turn. Through the principle of composition and re-composition of materials taken from different sources and through transdisciplinary field research, the Mediterranean culture is projected towards a post-technological horizon.

He has exhibited at the Lithuanian Pavilion (Swamp Pavilion) for the 16th Architecture Exhibition of Biennale di Venezia; at the 1st Political Philosophy Festival in Lecce in 2019; for the public programmes of Biomega at PAV Parco Arte Vivente in Turin and The Street - Where the world is made at MAXXI in Rome, curated by Hou Hanru. In the beginning of 2020 he has been in residence in Trieste for Neuro_Revolution, the residency program of AiR Trieste that will lead to the exhibition at MLZ Art Dep Gallery, with support from Mibact and SIAE.
