About the artist

Gašper Kunšič (1992, Slovenia) studied painting at Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana; media art and graphic design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Gašper often uses his own biography as a point of departure, adopting exhibition processes to alter the course of private and collective histories. Encompassing mixed media many of his works incorporate visual references from his native Slovenia and larger ex-Yugoslavian space and manifest as spatial installations through which the artist translates personal relationships into trans-media forms.

Among others, he has exhibited at: Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova (MSUM) Ljubljana; UGM Studio, Maribor; Gallery of Contemporary Art, Celje; Kunstraum Niederösterreich and Krinzinger Projekte, Vienna; Austrian Cultural Forum, London. His film was screened at the Ljubljana Short Film Festival. He lives in Vienna, Austria.
