About the artist
Corinne Mazzoli (1984, Italy) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 2008. In 2012 she completed her MA in Visual Arts at Iuav University of Venice. Her research is a constant reflection on invisibility and hypervisibility, on audiovisual strategies of deception, on fashions and follies, spread through the internet. At the center is always the body and its representation in the media.
In 2019 she exhibited in To be Here and There, curated by Dolomiti Contemporanee in Pieve di Cadore. Her performance The Party Wall was presented in Venice as part of Handle With Care, during the curatorial workshop in gallery AplusA and at House of Displacement Festival, curated by Campo Base, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin. In 2019 she won the MOVIN'UP 2018/2019 award, promoted by MiBAC, GAI, GA/ER thanks to which she had the chance to attend The Lab Program residency in Mexico City. There she started Building Mass, Mass and More Mass, a research on Bodybuilding and Cross-Dressing, on non-normative bodies, stereotypes and how they are perceived into society.
