CLOCK TOWER

Address: Sheshi Skanderbeg, near to Et'hem Bey Mosque., Tirana

An emblematic symbol of Albania's capital, the Clock Tower was built in 1822 by Haxhi Et`hem

Bey. Inspired by Venetian style architecture, its original Triestian bell used to ring the time

every hour. In 1928 the tower was extended to 35 meters and the bell was replaced by a

German clock destroyed during WWII. Today, a Chinese clock accompanies the view of

Skanderbeg Square.
